Marwan Amin
Selected Works 2026
Working across product design, visual communication, painting, and mixed media, his practice explores the relationship between people, objects, and culture. Through research and experimentation he approaches design as a way of understanding how everyday experiences can become more intuitive, meaningful, and engaging.
Drawing from both Egyptian and American cultures, his work is informed by the architecture, materiality, and the rituals of everyday life. Whether creating physical products or artistic works, he is interested in how design can foster accessibility, connection, and a stronger sense of place.
Marwan is currently exploring the intersection of industrial design, culture and emerging technologies through projects that span physical and digital media.
What happens when furniture is designed around the lived realities of diverse households rather than an idealized lifestyle? Marwan is currently researching how immigrant households use and adapt furniture in ways that challenge conventional design assumptions. Inspired by his own household, he is interested in the informal rituals and modifications that emerge when products meet the realities of everyday life.
